Feeling your Feelings

It is a small word but has so much influence in each one's life. It can only be experienced from within and directs our actions.
Nowadays, we can stream our movies, book our tickets using our phone instantly; however, our emotions do not work that way. They follow the same principle of a plant: constant care is required each day for survival. There are no shortcuts. The continuous nurturing results in stability, or else the endless peaks and troughs only result in an emotional breakdown.

Often these feelings generated within can create a storm, and we do not know how to subdue this storm. We can portray to the world that we are fine; however, these feelings slowly eat into our essence of life if they are not appropriately shared. When some opinions cannot be shared with anyone, it begins to feel claustrophobic where you are encaged in your little space. Keeping your feelings to you unless absolutely quintessential is like keeping birds that like to fly high in the sky in a cage.

Sometimes the last thing we want to do is feel our feelings. Because feeling can hurt.

Why are we scared of sharing our feelings to the world? Is it because of how others will judge us? We need to learn to be strong enough to share our feelings to achieve peace of mind.

Another critical viewpoint of this topic lies in how we treat other's feelings. Introspect, and you will realize that daily, knowingly, or unknowingly we hurt others' feelings. When they care for us the most, we say harsh remarks and crush their hearts. If an individual errs or does something against our wishes, we do not take the effort of thinking why they have done so. We jump to conclusions and, in an attempt to have things played according to your directives, say harsh words. Within a second, we forget all the person's contributions over the years.

We use the arrow of harsh words and pierce their heart

In the end, I believe we should devote ourselves to process our feelings rather than letting them build up until they drained us, began to shift and transform our life.

“You care so much you feel as though you will bleed to death with the pain of it.” ~JK Rowling
